Organiser agreement
The agreement you accept when you sell on LivePass. It is versioned: every purchase keeps the version that was in force the day it was made, so a ticket sold last season is still governed by the words that were on screen that day.
How versioning works
When this agreement changes we publish a new version with its own number and date. Purchases already made stay attached to the version that was in force at the time, and the dashboard shows which version applies to any given order.
Superseded versions stay readable rather than disappearing. Archive of past versions: to be confirmed.
Your event is yours
- You decide the show
- The bill, the date, the price, the tiers, the caps and the terms are yours. We do not curate, rank, feature or list your event anywhere — there is no LivePass marketplace to list it on.
- You are the seller
- To your buyers, the seller of record is you. Your name is on the site, the ticket and the email.
- Publish your own terms
- Your refund position and any event conditions go on your own site, before checkout. Past purchases keep the version of those terms they were sold under.
- Comps sit outside capacity
- A comp does not consume a ticket against your cap, and whoever is comped is already on the door list.
Your buyers
- The list is yours
- The customer list your site collects belongs to you. We do not market to it and we do not lend it to another organiser.
- Campaigns
- You can email ticket holders, the waitlist, or everyone, and the recipient count is shown before you send. Send to the people who signed up for this, not a list from somewhere else.
- Unsubscribes are final
- Someone who unsubscribes stays unsubscribed. Re-adding them by hand is a breach of this agreement.
- Passing it on
- If you give your buyer list to anyone else — a co-promoter, a venue, a sponsor — that is your disclosure to make to them, and you have to make it.
At the door
- Door staff see the door
- Give someone one event's door and nothing else. No dashboard, no revenue, no customer list.
- Sync before you close the tab
- Check-ins recorded while the connection is down live on that device until they sync. Closing the tab first loses them, and the warning on screen means it.
- Duplicates name the first device
- A second scan reports which device scanned the ticket first and when. That record is what you settle the argument with.
- Disputes at the door are yours
- You decide who comes in. We give you an accurate record of what was scanned, not a ruling.
Age, alcohol and safety
- 18+ by default
- Events are age-gated unless you opt one out for an all-ages show. Opting out is a decision you are making, and it is logged.
- Your licence, your conditions
- Liquor licensing, venue conditions, capacity limits and safety obligations are yours to meet. The platform enforces the caps you set; it does not know what your licence says.
- Event policies
- Where your event carries an alcohol or drug-free policy, publish it and put it in front of buyers before they pay.
Money
- The fee
- A service fee applies per paid ticket, charged to the buyer at checkout and shown before payment. Nothing on free tickets, nothing up front. The published figure is to be published.
- Refunds
- On a single refund the ticket price goes back and the service fee does not — it covers payment processing already spent, which the processor does not return. Cancelling a show refunds every purchase in full, fee included, and charges the processing cost on those refunds to your site.
- Chargebacks
- A reversed card payment comes back out of your balance, along with the bank's dispute fee, which is kept whichever way the dispute goes.
- GST
- Every event has a budget sheet with break-even and margin. If you file GST, turn it on and revenue, costs and profit are shown net of it; expense amounts are entered GST-inclusive and a supplier who is not registered can be flagged as such. Your own GST position is yours to get right.
Promoters and affiliates
Affiliate accounts are invite-only. An affiliate gets their own portal, their own allocation and their own sales figures, and carries a commission rate you set.
A commission rate change applies to future sales only. Sales already made keep the rate they were made under, and no rate change is applied backwards.
What we may do
- Suspend an event
- Where it breaks the law or this agreement. We tell you why and what would fix it.
- Hold a payout
- While a dispute, chargeback or suspected fraud is open, and only for as long as it is open.
- Contact your buyers
- Directly, where a refund, a cancellation or a payment problem requires it, and only about that.
- Keep the log
- The activity log survives the deletion of the records it describes. That is the point of it.
Accepting it
You accept this agreement when you create a site, and again when a new version takes effect. Each acceptance is recorded with the date and the version number, and you can see that record in your dashboard.
