What it costs

One fee. Per paid ticket.

No monthly plan, nothing up front, and nothing at all on a free ticket. Where something depends on how your site is set up, it says so.

Service fee, per paid ticket

to be published

Charged to the buyer at checkout and shown to them before they pay. A change to the fee applies to future sales only: sales already made keep the fee they were sold at. The published figure is being finalised, and this page will carry it rather than a range.

Nothing up front

No setup cost, no monthly plan, no card required to build a site and get it ready.

Free tickets are free

A $0 ticket carries no service fee, and free orders bypass card processing entirely.

The buyer pays it

It is added at checkout and shown before payment. It does not come out of the price you set.

No minimum

One show a year or four a week, the terms are the same.

Refunds

Three cases, because cancelling a show is not the same as refunding one person.

One purchase

The ticket price goes back to the buyer. The service fee does not: it covers the payment processing already spent on that purchase, which the processor does not return.

A cancelled show

Closes sales, takes the event off your listing, and refunds every purchase in full — service fee included. The processing cost on those refunds is charged to your site.

A changed show

Move a date, or change the event so much that it is not what someone bought, and tickets stay valid. Anyone who cannot make the new arrangements can ask for a full refund, fee included, for 14 days after you tell them.

Getting paid

New sites are paid through the ledger. Connecting Stripe switches you to the other one. Your Earnings tab shows which you are on.

The LivePass payout ledger

The default. LivePass holds ticket money and pays it out to your bank once the event has happened, which is what lets a cancellation still refund every buyer.

Your own Stripe account

Connect one and Stripe pays you directly, on its own schedule, the moment a ticket sells. Refunds are pulled back from the same account.

Questions

The things organisers ask before they move their ticketing.

What does LivePass cost?

A service fee on each paid ticket, shown to the buyer before they pay. There is nothing to pay up front, no monthly plan, and no fee at all on a free ticket. The published fee figure is being finalised.

Do free tickets cost anything?

No. A free ticket carries no service fee, and free orders do not go through card processing at all.

Who pays the fee, the organiser or the buyer?

The buyer. It is shown to them at checkout before they pay, and it is not taken out of the price you set.

What happens to the fee when I refund someone?

On an ordinary refund the ticket price goes back and the service fee does not: it covers the payment processing already spent on that purchase, which the processor does not return. If you cancel the show, or change it so materially that someone opts out, they are refunded in full with the fee included, and the processing cost is charged to your site.

What happens if I cancel a show?

Cancelling closes sales, takes the event off your listing, and refunds every purchase in full with the service fee included. Every ticket holder is emailed. The payment processing cost on those refunds is charged to your site, and it cannot be undone.

How do I get paid?

Card payments run through Stripe. By default LivePass holds the ticket money and pays it out to your bank once the event has happened — that is what lets a cancellation still refund every buyer. Connect your own Stripe account and Stripe pays you directly on its own schedule, the moment a ticket sells. Your Earnings tab shows which applies to you.

Is GST handled?

LivePass is operated from New Zealand. If you file GST, turn it on and every event’s budget sheet shows revenue, costs and profit net of it. Expense amounts are entered GST-inclusive, and a supplier who is not registered can be flagged as such.

Is there a contract or a minimum?

No. There is no monthly plan, no minimum volume, and no card required to set up a site.

Put it on sale

No card needed to set up. You only pay when you sell.
